As part of BPAS Architects’ ongoing professional development, 8 of our employees along with Director and Professional Architect Landseer Collen, will be attending the ArchitectureZA 2018 congress in Pretoria CBD from 3-5 May 2018 hosted by the South African Institute of Architects (SAIA). This three-day architecture festival is guaranteed to excite and awaken the minds of BPAS Architect’s future leaders in Architecture. Comprising of conference presentations, city tours and masterclasses hosted by international speakers, the theme WeTheCity: Memory and Resilience will encourage dialogue of environmental potential, cultural heritage and human settlement.

Supporting sustainable, diverse and adaptive cities we as BPAS Architects constantly strive towards an active participation in how we shape our cities and communicate the art of architecture – reflecting the resilience and identity of BPAS Architects. For more visit www.bpas.co.za/news #WeAreBPAS

WeTheCity: Memory & Resilience

Hosted by the South African Institute of Architects (SAIA) and co-hosted by the University of Pretoria (UP) and the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) from 3-5 May, AZA18 will explore the journey towards sustainable, adaptive and integrated cities that can respond to growing social, economic and environmental pressure, under the theme ‘WeTheCity: Memory & Resilience’

Taking the Conversation Forward

Says Maryke Cronje, President of the South African Institute of Architects (SAIA):
“AZA18 promises to be a significant milestone in the ongoing discourse around solutions and ideas that are regenerative, adaptive and diverse, in discussion with some of architecture’s key thinkers and practitioners. As we gather at this vibrant venue in the Pretoria inner city, we wish the AZA18 organisers and participants every success in their discussions and deliberations, the outcomes of which will be published with the intention of taking the conversations started here forward, to further SAIA’s vision of providing a collective voice serving the interests of architectural professionals in pursuit of excellence and responsible design; and of positioning South African architectural professionals as authoritative leaders in the built environment.”
